Keep Hydrated + BRITA Fill&Go

Natalie29 Comments

Last week I wrote a little about the importance of keeping hydrated (here) and explained why I think BRITA's Pour O'Clock initiative is a brilliant idea. I also promised to share my top tips for keeping hydrated. So here goes:

Start the day with a large glass of water

Needless to say, your body becomes dehydrated while you sleep - you've just gone 8 hours without a sip - so hydrating as soon as possible after you wake up is crucial.

I love to drink a pint of water with lemon for a refreshing and detoxing start to the morning.

Set an alarm

Pop a reminder in your phone to ensure you don't miss Pour O'Clock (I spoke about why this is important here)

Make it more interesting

If you get bored of drinking it straight, add some interest to your water. My favourite additions are lemon or cucumber.

Keep water with you at all times

I don't go anywhere without water. I keep a bottle rolling round in my car, take a sports bottle to the gym, buy a bottle to take to class at university, and always have a glass full sitting on my desk when I'm working. For a while now I've been trying to find the perfect reusable bottle to serve all purposes, which means that I can be kinder to the environment (and my purse!) by eliminating the need to buy bottled water, and I think I've finally found it.

I've collaborated with BRITA to try out their Fill&Go bottle, and to offer you lovely readers the chance to win one too!

So, to start with the obvious, the Fill&Go looks awesome. While I have the green version, it is also available in gorgeous shades of pink, blue and grey. What I also loved about this bottle immediately was the size. It holds 600ml of water, which is the ideal amount: a little more that a standard bottle of Buxton, but not so much that a full bottle would seriously weight down or take up crucial space in your bag. The bottle is dishwasher proof, has a straw for easy drinking, and is BPA-free. BPA stands for Bisphenol A, which is a synthetic chemical used to make certain plastics. It has been suggested that this chemical can seep into foods and drinks contained within BPA plastic containers, and this could be detrimental to your health. Yuck.

Finally, it wouldn't be BRITA without filter technology. Fill&Go bottles come with filters which clean your tap water as you drink it. What more could you ask for?! Except for one of your own of course...

For a chance to win a Fill&Go, just follow the instructions in the widget below. The giveaway is open to all UK readers and will end at at 11pm on 15th June.
