The Blonde Ethos

Latitude Festival

Yesterday I had such a fantastic day at Latitude. I bought my Dad two day tickets for his birthday as Elbow were headlining and I knew that he would love to see them live. The weather was quite kind to us really (considering what it has been like recently!) with just a few small showers but even so, I have never spent a day in so much mud! Here are just a few photos from our day.

Here I am in said mud. I struggled to decide what to wear as it's hard to get the right balance between style and practicality.
In the end I went for this ensemble of (top to toes):
Leopard Print Scarf - River Island
Black Chiffon Shirt - New Look
Black Cardigan - New Look
Bag - Warehouse (this is pretty old and not the bag that I intended to take but it was definitely the best size for all my festival essentials)
Taupe Leggings - Topshop
Black Frilly Socks - New Look
The All Important Wellies - Mountain Warehouse

I was very excited to see some brighty coloured sheep roaming about the site on arrival.

We had some delicious corn on the cob which left me wishing that I had have brought some dental floss with me. You could choose from a whole selection of different 'toppings'. We opted for honey & mustard and coconut & lime.

What I loved about this festival is that it's not only a music festival. The majority of the bands are not high-profile (or my era) but there are so many other things to do. There is comedy, film, literature, poetry, cabaret and a fantastic selection of food (which we took full advantage of). There are also other hidden gems in areas such as the Fantasty Forest where we found the Be Berry Good (above) where you can write your good deed in a 'berry' and The Bunting Factory (below) where you can sit stitching in the middle of the woods!

Amongst a few other acts, we saw Lianne La Havas and Laura Marling but the highlight of the day was undoubtedly Elbow headlining. We had the most amazing view of the stage from the Vodafone VIP Viewing Platform where we watched from about 40 feet above the crowd.

Overall it was an amazing day and such a pretty place with lights in the woods and on the lake and bubbles floating around everywhere. It was a more relaxed atmosphere than I have experienced at a festival before and I would love to return.
