+ John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Shampoo
Repurchase? Already have!
Recommend? Definitely for people with naturally blonde hair who want to brighten it
Why? This tends to be my go-to shampoo which I have used for years. I like to try out different shampoos and, in particular, find some good natural ones but I always like to have this on hand in case of emergencies. Previously reviewed here.
+ Naked Intensive Care Shampoo
Recommend? Yes, to people who like natural products, especially if you are in a medium or soft water area
Why? I live in a hard water area so with most SLS-free shampoos I find it hard to get a good lather. I love Naked products and I love the smell of this shampoo and the way it leaves by hair feeling but my only complaint is that I have to do 2 or more washes to get a good foam which I feel I need in order to be reassured that my hair will be clean. I will probably experiment with a few other natural shampoos before I know whether I will return to this one. Recommendations are definitely welcome!
+ Clairol Nice'n Easy Colour Seal Gloss Conditioner
Why? I dedicated an entire post to this conditioner last summer, and I am still loving it now! It is my go-to conditioner for super-soft locks, even though I don't colour my hair.
+ Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner
Repurchase? Probably not
Why? While I have really enjoyed using this sample size and found it to be a better-than-average conditioner, I have lots of other conditioning treatments that I am keen to try before I would consider repurchasing this one.
+ Liz Earle Mineral Sun Cream SPF20
Repurchase? Probably not as there are other brands that I prefer for sun protection
Why? This bottle is actually still pretty full but I am throwing it away as, having had it over a year, I don't want to rely on it to protect my skin. I like the fact that it is slightly tinted to avoid bright white residue but I just didn't use it that much. I am very picky about sun creams because I hate any kind of stickiness, plus I have very sensitive skin. Having said that, it certainly does the job and I like the brand for their natural ingredients.
+ Superdrug Anti-bacterial Hand gel
Repurchase? Perhaps at some point
Why? I love anti-bac! I'm never without it. I wouldn't repurchase this one at the moment as my favourite is currently the Cuticura citrus one, but it's a great price for a generously sized bottle.
+ Bodhi Bath and Shower Therapy in Galangal Spice and Palmarosa Verde
Repurchase? No, but I'd put them on a wish list!
Why? Bodhi products are full of beautiful essential oils. I love the scents of both of these body washes, even though I wouldn't ordinarily choose them. I received them in a mixed gift set which I would definitely recommend in order to sample all of the scents (which I am still working my way through!) as to buy them individually is pretty pricey!
Skincare & Makeup:
Repurchase? Already have!
Why? I stopped using this foundation for a few months as my skin turned incredibly dry and the powder picked up all of the blemishes. Now that my skin has settled down again though, I have started using this again as it is great for the summer months. Previously reviewed here.

Why? I have been having my teeth professionally whitened using bleach which can cause some sensitivity but every time I experience it, I use Sensodyne toothpaste and the sensation disappears!
+ Alpha H Absolute Eye Complex
Why? I received this trial size product from What's in my Handbag? and I wasn't very impressed. I'm not very keen on gel formulas anyway and noticed no difference while using this product.
+ YSL Shocking Mascara
Recommend? Yes if you have cash to splurge and use a mascara up in 3 weeks or less.
Why? I loved this mascara at first, it gives brilliant results but the formula dried up incredibly quickly (and I'm not a wand-pumper!) which made it unusable after just a couple of weeks. Previously mentioned here and here.
+ Clinique High Impact Mascara
Recommend? Probably not
Why? I think I received this sample size with a magazine. It was 'nice' but not above average.
+ Ren Active 7 Radiant Eye Gel
Why? This product was also a free magazine sample size. As with the Alpha H product, I didn't enjoy the gel formula and didn't see any change in the condition of my under-eyes while using it.
+ La Roche Posay Effaclar Due
Repurchase? At some point maybe
Why? I tried this sample size at a time when my skin was incredibly problematic and unpredictable. I would like to try it again when my skin has calmed down a little so that it's effects are more apparent. I have been really impressed with all La Roche products that I have tried in the past and would love to find the right one to add to my skincare collection.
+ Bare Minerals Prime Time
Repurchase? Perhaps in the future
Why? This is a beautiful serum formula which applies like a dream and really works. I'm currently using a Smashbox primer but there's no reason why I wouldn't use Prime Time again in the future.
+ Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic
Repurchase? Already have
Why? This is just a brilliant toner. I love the spritz bottle too!
+ Carmex Lip Balm
Repurchase? I keep a supply so that I am never without!
Why? I can't fault this lip balm. I only wish that the version with SPF was available in this scent too!
I hope you have found this post helpful in helping you make your mind up about some products. Several of these are items that I go back to time and time again so I'm sure you will see more of them in the future. Have you used any of these products?
